A combined team of Narcotic Affairs and Border (NAB) and Assam Rifles (AR) on September 17TH seized 3 kilograms and 500 grams of Opium along with MI mobile handset having mobile number 8732074215, one maroon colour ladies handbag and 8,00,000 numbers of World is Yours(WY) tablets weighing 80 kilograms, 3 kilograms of heroin powder No.4 and a bolero vehicle bearing registration number MNO3P- 1511 on September 17

Superintendent of Police, NAB W. Basu while briefing media at his office said that a team of NAB led by additional SP/NAB Th. Brinda, OC/NAB-PS, inspector SH. Chandrakumar under the supervision of SP/NAB conducted a search operation at Kakching lamkhai under Kakching district of Manipur on September 17 around 2 in the afternoon.

During verification of a bolero vehicle which was coming from Moreh towards Imphal driven by Kaikholun Mate (34) son of Jamkhojang Mate of Tengnoupal village near Assam Rifles camp under Tengnoupal district, the driver disclosed that he had dumped the contraband drugs in a store owned by one Shelly of Bongyang near Lamkang Khunou, he said

SP informed that, subsequently 18th Assam Rifles was requested for assistance in the operation as Bongyang falls under their jurisdiction. Major Candrasekhar led the Assam Rifles team after which the combined team cordoned the area and search the store room mentioned along with Kaikholun Mate.

On searching the said room the combined team found 9 nine yellowish gunny bags containing 800000(eight lakhs) number of World is Yours tablets weighing 80 kilograms and three (3) kilograms of heroin powder no.4.

The accused person was arrested at around 4.40 in the evening. A case has been registered under 60(09)2019 u/s 21(c)/ 22(c)/60 (3)ND& PS Act at NAB PS in connection with the case he added.

SP further said that, on September 17 around 4.15 in the evening, a team of NAB-PS also arrested D.Teresa Lamkang(29) wife of(L) K.George of Sektai Karong village under Chandel district, Manipur near Pallel bridge. The team seized 3 kilograms and 500 grams of Opium along with MI mobile handset having mobile number 8732074215, one maroon colour ladies handbag.

A case has been registered under 59(09) 2019 u/s 18(b) ND&PS Act at Nab-PS in connection with the case, he added.
