Imphal : An alleged misleading audio recording, falsely attributed to the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Manipur, has been reportedly circulating on social media platforms.

This doctored audio is said to be a malicious attempt to incite communal violence and disrupt the ongoing peace process.  A government stated that social media analysis found a targeted campaign, with multiple X (formerly Twitter) accounts sharing the audio with similar captions.

The statement added that the Manipur Police is actively investigating the matter and legal action will be taken against individuals and organizations involved. The government further urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and report suspicious content to the police.
