Guwahati : The First Board meeting of the new joint venture company “North East Dairy And Foods Limited” was held on 08^th February 2023 at its registered office in the premises of West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd. (WAMUL), Guwahati to discuss preliminary matters pertaining to the functioning of the new joint venture company.

The Board Meeting was attended by Honb’le Minister for Cooperation, GoA, Nandita Gorlosa as the Chairperson of the new company and by Chairman, NDDB, Meenesh C Shah as one of the Directors in the Board of the new company.

The meeting was attended by all the Directors of the Company – Maninder Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Dept., GoA, Manish Thakur, IAS, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Dept., GoA, Jayant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Dept., GoA and S Regupathi, Sr. General Manager, NDDB, S Rajeev, General Manager, NDDB and SB Bose, General Manager, NDDB.

The new company formed as a joint venture between Govt. of Assam (GoA) and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) with equal share capital contribution was incorporated on 17^th January 2023. Chairman, NDDB presented the certificate of incorporation of the new company “North East Dairy And Foods Limited” to the Honb’le Minister for Cooperation, GoA, Nandita Gorlosa.  

The Board Members deliberated on kick staring the operations and implementing a comprehensive dairy development programme- Assam Dairy Development Plan (ADDP) in mission mode.

ADDP is designed by NDDB and GoA to realise the vision of Hon’ble CM of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, in making Assam self-sufficient in production, procurement, processing and marketing of milk and milk products.
