Gangtok : A devastating flood has swept away eight houses, leaving several families homeless and three people missing in Majuwa village, located in the Yangang region of South Sikkim on June 10. The calamity, caused by torrential rains, has triggered an extensive search operation to find the missing individuals.

In response to the disaster, a district team led by DPO Sir, accompanied by various Disaster Management Authorities (DMAs), is en route to the affected area. Another team, headed by the Block Development Officer (BDO) and the Deputy Director of the Land Revenue and Disaster Management (LRDM), is also making its way to the site. Additionally, a team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Yangang has already departed for Majuwa.
