Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit passes away at 81
The former Delhi chief minister and senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, passed away in the national capital on Saturday. She was 81. According to sources, Sheila Dikshit passed away at a private hospital in Delhi at around 3:30 pm today. She was admitted at 10:30 am in the morning.
Dikshit has been the longest-serving chief minister of Delhi. She suffered from cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) and had to be immediately put on to ventilator today. She reportedly faced another cardiac arrest at 3:15 pm
She had been a powerful administrator and a leader who had governed Delhi thrice since 1998. She also had a record of leading her party to three consecutive victories in New Delhi constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi.
