Four districts of Assam were erased from the map. These districts were merged with their previous districts. This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma after the Cabinet meeting in Delhi . He said this decision had to be taken considering the public interest and the country. Many people can be hurt by it. He apologized for this.
