Aspire Junior College of Sapekhaiti of Udalguri district of Assam was in news due to the exposure given to the students on the traditional life of farmers.

Farming is one of the traditional sources of income of the people of Assam and the college authorities felt the necessity of organising a practical class on sowing of crops so that the students become more skillful and develop an interest in the traditional occupation.

The college authorities have made farming a part of the school curriculum to connect the students with rural life and keep them aware of the efforts of a farmer.

The students of Higher Secondary first and second-year (students of 11th and 12th) were taken to a nearby paddy field of Sapekhaiti village near Udalguri town of Assam. Both boys and girls in school uniform enthusiastically participated in sowing paddy crops. 

The photographs of these innocent smiling faces went viral and have won many hearts. The main aim of the college authorities was to bring an all-round development amongst the students by keeping them connected to rural life.
