Guv’s assistance to the Captain of the SAFF U-16 Football Championship now staying in relief camp
Imphal : Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey visited 3 relief camps in Kangpokpi district on Friday and distributed relief materials to 1,521 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) of 389 families staying in the camps. Financial assistance of Rs.1000 each to the pregnant and lactating women, patients, and elderly people was also distributed by the Governor.
The governor first visited the relief camp at DIET Centre, Leikop Champhai, and heard the grievances of 528 IDPs of 148 families staying there. Later, she went to Zalen Community Hall relief camp and interacted with 221 IDPs of 73 families. Finally, the Governor went to the relief camp opened at ITI, Kangpokpi, and enquired about the facilities provided to 772 IDPs of 168 families there.
The governor distributed relief materials and donated a sum of Rs. 20,000 to the camp. She also met with the Indian Football Team Captain, Namgouhou, who is staying in a relief camp and participated in the SAFF U-16 Football Championship held recently and thanked him and extended a sum of Rs.10,000 to him.
