Kohima: The Government of Nagaland along with the Assam Rifles has evacuated 553 more returnees in the second phase and the evacuated persons reached Kohima safely on 10^th May 2023. The Government of Nagaland along with the Assam Rifles had earlier, safely evacuated 676 returnees in the first phase on 7^th May 2023 and so, the total number of persons evacuated stands at 1229 till date.

Looking into the plight of the returnees, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has agreed to grant a token relief of Rs. 5000 per person/family unit. The State Government is taking all measures to ensure that all citizens of the State stranded in Manipur are able to
