In a recent development, the authorities have successfully seized a considerable amount of weaponry in the regions of Thoubal and Churachandpur in Manipur. This astounding achievement comes as a result of the diligent efforts put in by law enforcement agencies.

 Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in joint operations recovered a huge cache of arms including one 7.65 mm Pistol, one revolver, one single barrel rifle, five grenades during the last 24 hours from Manipur’s Thoubal and Churachandpur districts.

 Acting on specific intelligence input, a security team carried out a search operation at Pechi in Thoubal district of Manipur.

 During the operation, five mortar shell, five HE-36 Hand Grenade, one Tear Smoke Grenade, one Tear Smoke Shell, two Tear Smoke Shell Soft Nose (SR), one 38 mm Cartridge with Rubber, one Country made Mortar Shell, one 9mm CMG with two Magazine, one 7.65 mm Pistol Browning’s Patent with one magazine, one Revolver (Country Made), one Air Gun and one HTRF Walkie Talkie were recovered. In a separate development, search operations and area domination were conducted in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Churachandpur district.

 One Tear Gas Gun, two Country-made 9mm Pistol along with magazine, six SBBL Guns, four Improvised Mortar (Pumpi Gun).

 The recovered items were handed over to the concerned police stations, the officials report added.
