Fifty packets of heroin were found from a concealed place of the vehicle

On Saturday afternoon, forces of Dillai police station of Bokajan subdivision while conducting routine checking at a police checkpoint in Karbi Anglong District, one ECO van bearing registration number AS 01 BT8839 intercepted and during the search, fifty packets of heroin were found from a concealed place of the vehicle.

The Market value of the seized heroin has been assessed by police to be more than one crore rupees in Indian currency. In this connection, one person has been arrested; police have identified him as Prince Mao. The vehicle was heading towards Guwahati from Manipur.

On Friday in another operation, Khatkhati police in Karbi Anglong district also seized heroin by intercepting a night super bus, bearing registration NL07 B 0908, coming from Dimapur; around 8.00 pm.

During the search, police found six plastic packets containing 72.50 grams of heroin from accused Jesab Konyak aged around nineteen years, a resident of Mon district of Nagaland. 

He was arrested by police in connection with the case. The market value of the seized contraband has been assessed to be around twelve lakh rupees.
