Himanta on a goodwill visits to Manipur

Imphal : Assam chief minister and the convener of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, came to Imphal on Saturday for few hours to meet the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh as well as other party colleagues.

He is visiting Manipur for the first time after the violence broke out on May 3 and while speaking with the reporters said that he is on a good will visit of the state to understand more into the situation and shall also report back to the Union Home Minister the present situation.

Dr. Sarma also held a meeting with leaders of some civil society organisations at Hotel Classic Grande in Imphal. He also met with some of the BJP MLAs as well as Naga MLAs of the state. He left Imphal for Guwahati in the evening.
