Two workers were killed in a house construction site landslide at Jirighat colony under Lakhipur Sub-Division of Cachar District. A landslide occurred at around 4 PM while the labourers were working at the site and buried four people alive.

However, two of them along with the house owner were rescued alive. But two other workers who were buried deeper were found dead when they were pulled out hours later.

The two dead bodies which were dug out are identified as Krishna Roy (33yrs) S/o: Mohitush Roy of Kadamtilla, Jirighat, and Sajanti Mura (27 yrs) D/o: Butlu Mura, Jirighat.

The incident happened at the house construction site of Romon Das at Jirighat colony.
