KARIMGANJ : During the visit of S K Misra, IG Mizoram & Cachar Frontier along with senior BSF officers on Friday, reviewed the operational preparedness and domination of the area by BSF particularly the unfenced gap along the Kushiyara River in the Karimganj area of Assam.
He was briefed by the Bn Commandant and had interaction with the Superintendent of Police, Karimganj and BSF Commanders and appreciated the effectiveness of the surveillance systems for domination to stop the illegal smuggling activities/infiltration bid through the unfenced gap.
The unfenced gap is being covered round the clock by installing/erection high-quality cameras having the capability of day & night observation all along the International Border/riverine gap and being monitored from the Command and Control Centre established at Border Out Posts.
In addition, high-speed boats are also placed to carry out round-the-clock domination in the riverine area by trained BSF troops and the illumination of the area by flood lights.
