If the concerned authority only wants to nab the culprits, it can easily nab them
Haflong : The Indigenous People’s Forum (IPF), N.C.Hills, HQ: Haflong, condemned in the strongest term the barbaric and inhumane act that had been meted out to two innocent Kuki-Zo girls and a boy at B. Phainom village, Kangpokpi on 4th of May last by the Meiteis goons.
The video got viral in social media yesterday. It is rather hard to watch the video that got viral in social media yesterday in which two girls belonging to Kuki-Zo tribals had been forced to parade in naked amid around 1000 Meiteis goons.
They tortured the girls in most humiliating way. The way the girls were tortured and humiliated is beyond one’s imagination. It is a rare type of torturing which in fact is uncalled for. The saddest part of the incident was that one of the two girls was gang-raped in broad day light before every one’s eyes and her brother who tried to defend his sister was mercilessly killed.
Disappointingly enough, though an FIR had been filed, there has no one been learnt to have been arrested in connection to this most horrifying incident which is a clear indication of lack of any interest for justice on the part of the state govt. of Manipur.
Today, it has been for seventy- three days since this horrifying incident occurred that the culprits remain scot-free. Atleast, a few persons of the mob can be identified very clearly from the video itself. If the concerned authority only wants to nab the culprits, it can easily nab them.
Therefore, we request the govt. of Manipur and the govt. of India to kindly take necessary action without further loss
of time to nab all the culprits involved in perpetrating this kind of inhumane torturing and humiliating of the two Kuki-Zo girls and killing of the girl’s brother and, to initiate stern legal action(s) against them as per the law of the land and, to give the victims justice.
