Agartala: A special team along with Cyber security unit has been formed for detailed investigation into the matter of huge amount of money from Maheshkhala under Amtali police station of west Tripura district.

In a press statement issued by state police headquarters said on Friday late evening that “consequent upon recovery of Rs. 93 lakh from the house of one Prasenjit Paul under Amtali police station, the matter was enquired. 

Prima- facie it is revealed that the money recovered is related with betting in IPL and other local cricket matches. A case is being registered under relevant sections of law against Prasenjit Paul and his associates. Special team along with Cyber security unit has been formed for detailed investigation of the case, the police statement said.
