ITANAGAR : The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended his greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of the Tamla Du Festival. In his message to the people, the Governor said “On the sacred occasion of Tamla Du Festival of our Tawran (Digaru) and Kaman (Miju) Mishmi brethrens, I convey my sincere ‘Festival Greetings’ to the people of my beloved State Arunachal Pradesh. I hope that this year’s Festival will usher in happiness and prosperity for all”.

The Governor said that the celebration of Tamladu Festival brings the Tawran and Kaman fold members together and also helps in carrying forward their age-old cultural heritage and customs. During this Festival, the members of Mishmi tribe offer prayers to the Nature and Almighty Lord Jabmalo to save their people from natural calamities and for good health of domestic animals and good growth of the newly planted crops, he said, adding that relying on their inherited traditional knowledge of Mishmi people, during the Tamla Du Festival, they offer their obeisance to the Nature and resolve to preserve the environment.
“On this occasion, I pray to Almighty Lord Jabmalo to bless each one of us and extend his choicest largess for the people of Arunachal Pradesh”, the Governor said in his message
