Jiten has demanded the upgradation of Sabroom hospital to a referral hospital

Agartala: The CPI (M) state secretary and central committee member Jiten Chowdhury has demanded upgradation of health service in state’s southern-most subdivision , Sabroom. Having extensively toured the subvision from where he was elected to the state assembly this year Jiten said that a seven point charter of demands should be implemented for improvement of health service in the state.

He said that the previous left front government had built up the infrastructure for the Sabroom hospital but this whole infrastructure is still not being used. Jiten has demanded the upgradation of Sabroom hospital to a referral hospital .

“It is an imperative that the hospital be manned by a specialist in medicine (MD), anaesthologist and a sinologist ; besides a gynaocologist expert in maternity operations must also be posted in the hospital “ said Jiten.

He pointed out that despite having proper infrastructure blood bank has not yet been established in the hospital . Jiten also demanded introduction of blood bank in the hospital , creation of facilities for twenty four hour service in Manughat hospital and upgradation of Bankul and Srinagar PHCs to social hospitals.

Despite the leader from Jiten Chowdhury who is also leader of the CPI (M) legislature party in the assembly , there is as yet no response from the government . But sources said that the government has taken the letter seriously and will try to fulfill the demands raised by Jiten Chowdhury.
