Diphu :  In an extraordinary development, the government of India has ordered the amalgamation of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong with Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council. Henceforth the DRDAs of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong will function under the administrative jurisdiction of the council from now.

The Government of India vide its letter no B 200215/02/2020-DRDA/3727423 dated 1st March 2023 has ordered the amalgamation. In this respect the Executive Committee of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council took the resolution (No. 7) on 3rd February 2022.

 The council authority passed the resolution last year but the official takeover of the government agency into the fold of the council came into effect from today i.e. March 14^th 2023 ( vide Memo No. KAAC/East -I/Pt-I/DRDA/P(B)200/254(A) Dated 14/03/2023) the subsequent absolution of all staffs of the DRDA Karbi Anglong by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council also came to effect from today.

Henceforth service of all the staff of the District Rural Development and unit and cells in the office of the Deputy Director P&RD, (Hills), Diphu has been attached immediately with the council authority.

The official order issued by Secretary to the Chief Executive Member Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Mukul Kathar, dated March 14 2023 have directed the Project Directors of DRDA, Karbi Anglong to hand over the account of fund released under DRDA schemes as on 31th March 2022 to the Deputy Director, P&RD (Hills) within 15th March 2023.

Further the authority of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has released Sri Shashi Kanta Timing Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Jorhat Zila Parishad from the post of In Charge Project Director of DRDA Karbi Anglong to facilitate him to join at his original place of posting as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Jorhat Zila Parishad .
