Diphu : Alleging incongruity and inconsistency in the draft statement for delimitation process made public by the Election Commission of India, regional political party Autonomous State Demand Committee has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Commission of India on Wednesday demanding modification in the draft report.
In the memorandum Autonomous State Demand Committee has mentioned that anomalies and discrepancies persists in the draft proposal, where eighteen polling stations which are presently within number 20 Baithalangso legislative assembly constituency of West Karbi Anglong Autonomous District have been integrated in the proposed 63 Hojai, 61 Roha Schedule Cast reserve and 52 Jagiroad Schedule Cast reserve legislative assembly constituency.

The party claimed finalization of the draft delimitation proposal for Karbi Anglong District, West Karbi Anglong District and Dima Hasao District on the basis of Member of Autonomous Council Constituency covered by legislative assembly constituency’s part wise.
Other demands of the party before the election commission includes a lasting arrangement of contiguous inter-state and inter-district border areas of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong District to prevent overlapping during polling; and increasing of legislative assembly and parliamentary constituencies in the three Hill Districts of Assam.
