No arrest has been made by police so far in this case
According to a definite input given by 4 CIB, Military intelligence and the same information received by the officer in charge of Diphu police station about storing a large number of arms and ammunitions kept concealed by KDLF ultras after the death of Jackson Ronghang Chairman of the outfit who was killed in an encounter last year in a place located within the command of Rongmongwe police station.
Yesterday around 2.45 PM a team of Diphu police led by Officer In Charge JS Khobung, and personnel of the 7th Assam Police battalion conducted a search in the entire area and recovered a huge catch of arms kept buried under two feet deep soil inside the forested area located in the rear side of the botanical garden, Lumding road around six kilometers from Diphu town.
The recovered weapons include one .22 Rifle, one) handmade .303 Rifle with the magazine. one handmade pistol, four HE-39 Hand Grenades, three. AK- 47 magazines, six pistol magazines, seven detonators with bundles of fuse wires, seven springs of HE- 39 grenade, nine detonators of HE- hand grenades, three wireless sets, seven explosives, hundred eighty live ammunitions of AK-47 rifle, sixty-six live ammunitions of 9 mm pistol, thirty-one live ammunitions of .22 pistol.
The recovery items were seized by police in presence of local public witnesses properly, no arrest has been made by police so far in this case. A case has been registered by Diphu police in this connection (GDE No 484 Dated 22/01/22).
