Diphu : Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee is registering vigorous protest in the district against abnormal price hike of essential commodities including food items and artificial price inflation due to local influence. Hundreds of Congress members of Lumbajong and Langsomepi Block Congress Committees also held a protest demonstration at Semson Sing Engti Memorial Park of Diphu yesterday.

Congress workers raised their voice against the abnormal rise in the cost of indispensable merchandise including petrol, diesel, medicine, children’s food, milk, LPG cylinder and the unfair burden of Goods and Service Tax.

After holding protest demonstrations for hours Congress leaders and workers submitted a memorandum stating their annoyance on the issue of price rise to the Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong at her office.

President of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee, Sum Ronghang, earlier MLA of Howraghat Joyram Engleng previous MLA, Klengdoon Engti; Vice President of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee Raton Engti, president of Karbi Anglong District Mahila Congress Committee Purnima Teronpi took part the protest rally.
