Diphu :  In an impetuous development, authority of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s department of Environment and Forest vide a letter, no KAAC/E&F/Esstt./Illegal appointment/2021-22/ Dated Diphu the 21st March 2023;have directed the Divisional Forest Officer, Karbi Anglong and West karbi Anglong District to lodge FIR against Sri Abhijit Rabha, IFS who was the former Special Principal Chief Conservator of forest and all other officials, persons involved into the illegal appointment under Forest and environment department today.

In this respect Secretary Environment & Forest Department Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has issued a sturdy directive to the Divisional Forest Officer as regards to illegal appointment in the Forest department through letter number KAAC/E&F/Estt./ Illegal appointment/2021-22/1844, dtd.19/12/2022.

The Secretary has stated that his directive has the approval of the Chief Executive Member, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council vide file no. KAAC/ E&F/Esstt./ Illegal appointment / 2021-22 dtd.19t December ‘2022.

Mukul Kathar Secretary Environment & Forest Department Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has directed the Divisional Forest Officer to submit compliance report within five days from the date of issue of his order.It may be stated here that hundreds of appointments were given in the Forest department under the jurisdiction of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council within a span of more than five years, allegedly devoid of approval from the council.

However the illegitimately appointed employees ranging from grade four to Range Officers are enjoying their pay and allowances and other benefits from the council authority, including various types of departmental loans within this period.It will be attention-grabbing to watch how the authority of Karbi Anglong Autonomous will repulse the appointed employees who have gained a certain amount of seniority and legitimacy in their service under certain norms of service rules
