Diphu :  Amid the festive mood prevailing in Assam, security forces seized a huge quantity of heroin, valued around rupees ten crore in the international black market, from a truck in Bokajan subdivision of Karbi Anglong district on last Wednesday. In connection with the seizer police have arrested one person.

 According to police, a search was initiated based on a secret input by police forces of Karbi Anglong and Golaghat districts backed by Central Reserve Police Force at Khakrajan police checkpoint located within Bokajan subdivision’s Barpathar locality.

During the operation, the security personnel detained one truck coming from Manipur; during a thorough search around 140 soap cases containing 1.8 kilogram heroin was detected from a secret chamber located in the chassis of the vehicle. Police have arrested the driver of the truck.
