Diphu :  The District Information & Public Relation Officer, Karbi Anglong through a official communiqué issued on March 12 2023 has informed that on 6th March 2023 a fabricated and incredible news published in NE portal news regarding Dr. Sumitra Hagjer, Principal of Diphu Medical College And Hospital, Diphu have come to the notice of KAAc authority.

Utpal Dimasa DIPRO has mentioned that news was published under head line “Assam Diphu Medical College Principal accused of ‘illegally’ collecting house rent from faculty members’.

The DIPRO has claimed that the news published failed its credential which the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Assam Medical College Authority likes to draw attention regarding the said matter.

The council authority likes to clarify that as per Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council ordered Dr. Sumitra Hagjer, Principal of Diphu Medical College, mentioning that maintenance services fee will be paid by the Doctors of Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Diphu who are staying at Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s Member hostel so there is no such matter of  collection of house rent illegally.

The DIPRO quoting Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has informed that without proper information such derogatory remarks on highly placed government officials will not be accepted and if required an obligatory defamation case will be lodged for damaging the dignity and position of the said official.

By referring to the council authority the DIPRO has requested the NE Now News portal to rectify the news for which the council authority may provide details of order issued by the council authority to Dr. Sumitra Hagjer, Principal DMCH, Diphu
