Diphu : Based on specific information Assam police backed by CRPF have apprehended two drug paddlers at Dillai police checkpoint in Karbi Anglong District and have recovered two kilogram thirteen grams of Morphine, today around 1.00 pm. Police have assessed the value of the narcotics to be around five crores in black market.

Police set up a checkpoint near Dillai gate and posted personnel of 20 Battalion CRPF under officer Ravi Gill, Assistant Commandant and Officer in charge of Dillai Police Station. Around 1.00 pm, as expected, one red color Mahindra KUV100 car bearing registration no. WB-02-BE-3503 arrived from the direction of Dimapur and was immediately intercepted.

During the search of the vehicle, four packets of Morphine wrapped in polythene bags weighing 2 kilogram and thirteen grams were recovered from the concealed compartment of the steering door of the car. The Morphine was intended for shipping to West Bengal’s Siliguri from Nagaland.
