Bhadla is spread over 5700 hectares and produces 500 megawatt power although having a predictable capacity of 2245 megawatt; it was commissioned in 2022; this ambitious joint venture project of Ministry of Renewable Energy, Government of India and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited- Solar may solve many issues of this power striven region.
The mammoth power project will be put up at village Lankaijan around thirty five kilometers from Diphu, official headquarter town of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council administered area; the project will be erected over twenty thousand Bigha of land bordering Hojai district of Assam.
Secretary to the Chief Executive Member Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Mukul Kathar a senior Assam Civil Service bureaucrat who is also holding the charge of Land and Revenue department of the council has informed that the council authority is all set to handover the land to Assam Power Distribution Company Limited tomorrow.
