Diphu : Four persons were injured in a wild elephant attack at Kabung village close to Kheroni Forest Range of West Karbi Anglong district on last Saturday afternoon.
According to an eyewitness the incident occurred around 1.00 am, when the famished feral jumbos assaulted the residence of Jonasing Timung, damaging the household properties and injuring four family members of Timung. The stock of rice was ransacked.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Diphu Medical College & Hospital at present.
In a separate incident wild elephant killed an auto rickshaw driver in Dillai- Dimapur Road, Duncan Basti locality under Dillai Police station of Bokajan subdivision around 7:30 pm yesterday.
The victim has been identified as Rengthunga of Duncan Basti, he was attacked by an elephant while returning home in his Auto Rickshaw bearing Registration No. NL 07 F-357.
