Diphu :  Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Executive Member in charge finance Tuliram Ronghang presented a surplus budget of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council for the year 2023-24 yesterday at the session hall of the council.The budget has proposed predictable expenses by Rs. 71565.31 lakhs alongside the whole probable take of Rs. 74764.21 lakhs direct to an excess of Rs. 3198.90 lakhs for the year 2023-24.

The budget has increased the charges and fees obligatory on different subjects like trading licenses, transfer fee of land deal and other trades & professions. In all these, charges have been augmented by the council authority to rejuvenate the exhausted revenue receipts of council.The budget has projected its intention to increase proceeds from the compilation of the amount of royalty arrears and taxes from Cement Corporation of India, motor vehicle tax, land revenue and from timber trade.

In his budget speech the council chief has requested the Assam government to release an amount of Rs. 7000.00 lakhs (approx) including arrears of Motor Vehicle Tax which is council’s share, within this financial year.

The budget has reflected expected revenue of the council; including the council’s possessing source to be around Rs. 25104.20 lakh, and Rs. 49660.01 Lakh from GIA and State government’s administrative charges.
