The administration has warned that violation of the order would result in prosecution
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been imposed across Karbi Anglong district by the Karbi Anglong district administration on Tuesday.
The authority has expressed trepidation that there is the likelihood of causing disturbance to public peace and tranquility in some places of the district by illegally causing obstruction, annoyance, or injury to any person lawfully employed, or danger to human life, health, or safety.
The order stated that the administration is convinced that anti-social elements, groups, organizations may disturb the public order and tranquility causing anti-social activities like dharna, procession, torch processions etc.
This order has prohibited picketing, rally, torch procession in front of government offices, public institutions, commercial establishments, or any other places of public importance, the administration has warned that violation of the order would result in prosecution as per provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
