Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has informed all the arms and ammunition dealers including Air Rifles under Kohima district to discontinue selling of Arms and Ammunition and closure of shops w.e.f. 9th April 2024. The order is being issued in view of the forthcoming General Election to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024.

The order further informed the Superintendent of Police, Kohima to ensure that physical verification of all Arms and Ammunition stock ledgers are carried out and closure in time.
