NEWS 1- Today the world’s population has exceeded 8 billion. At 1:40 PM today, the world’s population reached 8 billion. China is currently the most populous country in the world. Next is India. However, in the next few years, India will overtake China as the most populous country in the world.

NEWS 2- Trinamool Congress leader MP Sushmita Dev supported the Barak Bandh on the 18th. Support the bandh on the 18th, everyone should come out and protest on the streets she voiced. She also took up the matter of local betel nut traders. She asked the administration to draw up a list of local betel nut traders and sort out their problems.

NEWS 3- In a joint meeting, various parties and organizations have assured active support for the proposed Barak bandh program on November 18 called by BDF.
A joint meeting was organized at Silchar Pensioners Bhavan with the aim of taking a plan based on the well-thought-out opinions and suggestions of the representatives of various parties and organizations to make the Barak bandh on November 18, called by the Barak Democratic Front, a success.

BDF convenor Joydeep Bhattacharya said in the opening speech at the meeting held under the chairmanship of senior CPI party leader Rafiq Ahmed that although the main purpose of this proposed bandh is to protest the deprivation of Barak’s job aspirants and the torture of non-tribals in Meghalaya, the demand to stop the unnecessary harassment of Barak’s betel nut traders has also been included as one of its issues.

In today’s meeting, Arindam Dev on behalf of the Assam Wages Workers Union expressed their full support for this proposed bandh. Pradeep Nath on behalf of Forum for Social Harmony also appealed to give importance to this issue in his speech. Atanu Bhattacharya, President of Silchar City Committee present at the meeting on behalf of the Indian National Congress assured that their party will cooperate fully to make this November 18 bandh program a success.

BDF Chief Convener Pradeep Datta Roy said today that he is sure that the people of Barak will support the bandh program spontaneously. He commented that the demand for this bandh should also include protesting the way bureaucratic excesses are going on today to stifle the voice of the democratic process.

NEWS 4- If BJP wins in Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel will be the next Chief Minister. Home Minister Amit Shah said this today. He said every year about 40% of MLA tickets are cut. But no one revolts against this. This is the culture of the BJP. Few may get sad but everyone will work for the team stated Amit Shah. Incidentally, Patel became the first MLA in 2017. But BJP made him Chief Minister and removed Vijay Rupani.

NEWS 5- Landslide in Mizoram: eight dead including youth from Cachar, four missing Twelve more are feared dead. The news came to the family on Tuesday morning that twenty-five-year-old Surjit Roy, son of Situ Roy, of Katigara, Cachar, has died.

After that, the whole family broke up. After the accident on Monday, the family members were worried. Surjit Roy was LNT driver. Worked for ABCI in Mizoram. When the news of the death reached home, a sad situation was created. Samiran Namashudra said that Surjit Roy’s body has already been put in the coffin after the autopsy. He said that arrangements are being made to send the dead body home.

It is to be noted that a landslide occurred at Stone Quarry in Natial, Jailor, Lungale, Mizoram on Monday at 2:40 PM. It was feared that at least 15 workers were trapped in the incident. Later it is known that eight people including Surjeet lost their lives in this accident. At present, four workers namely Safiqul Islam of Goalpara, Zahidur Islam of Barpeta, along with two more workers from Mizoram’s Lungale district are missing, according to the sources.

NEWS 6- The Assam Strike has been a huge success in Upper Assam today, demanding recognition of the people of the six communities of Assam. The government has so far not given the ST status to 6 communities. This strike was called in protest. The strike was largely successful in all the districts of Upper Assam.

NEWS 7- The “National Press Day” program has been organized at Silchar Press Club on Wednesday at 10 am. There is a discussion meeting as scheduled by the “Press Council of India”. The topic of discussion is, “Social Responsibility in Media – Right Direction of Nation Building”. Press Club General Secretary Shankar Dey has requested everyone to attend the event.
