NEWS 1– Barak Bandh in Assam of Barak Democratic Front was total and successful. The entire valley, including Silchar, was disrupted. Since the morning of Silchar, shops and markets were closed. Fatak Bazar, the main business hub of Silchar, remained closed since morning. Schools and colleges were closed. Office attendance was very low. BDF chief convenor Pradeep Datta Roy thanked the people for making this bandh a success without any picketers.

NEWS 2- Police arrested 4 picketers in support of the bandh and released them at 5 pm. Meanwhile, the convener of the BDF media cell, Rishikesh Dey said that some policemen misbehaved with them at the police station, and along with them, three people of Bengali Naba Nirman Sena were arrested that day. They thanked various parties and organizations as the bandh was successful.

NEWS 3- A letter threatening to bomb Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was received by Madhya Pradesh Police and Police became active in this regard. It is said that Rahul Gandhi will be blown up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and will be sent to his father Rajiv Gandhi.

The sender of the letter gave his name and phone number. It has been warned that there will be several bomb blasts simultaneously in Indore. Madhya Pradesh Police has acknowledged receipt of this letter and is concerned about it.

The threat letter is significant amidst Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. The letter also mentions the 1984 Sikh killings and riots.

NEWS 4– West Bengal Trinamool leader Anubrata Mondal was finally arrested by Enforcement Directorate in the cattle smuggling scam. He was being interrogated continuously for the last few days. The Trinamool Congress reacted strongly to the arrest of Anubrata. MP Shantanu Sen said this is BJP’s revenge politics. The CPM supported the arrest.

NEWS 5– The foreign policy of some countries has stood to support terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this while addressing the G20 Summit. He said that terrorism is now a danger to the whole world. But there are some countries that support terrorism. They consider terrorism as part of their foreign policy. The Prime Minister urged to change this attitude.

NEWS 6- The state government will celebrate the 400th birth anniversary of Bir Lachit for 7 days. Various events in Guwahati started today with March Past. March past is also held today in Silchar. The central event will be held in New Delhi on November 23. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.
