NEWS 1- BJP returned to power in Gujarat. BJP has won 158 out of 182 seats, breaking the record for the last 25 years. Congress got 17 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party opened its account in Gujarat by winning five seats. The opposition camp has been virtually wiped out by the BJP’s victory.
NEWS 2- Congress returned to power in Himachal Pradesh. Congress got forty nine seats. BJP had to be satisfied with only 26 seats. Aam Aadmi Party could not win any seat in Himachal Pradesh this time. Congress and BJP have been at loggerheads since the start of the election campaign. But in the end, Congress managed to get victory in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.
NEWS 3- Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav has won Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpur Lok Sabha seat. She defeated her nearest BJP candidate by a huge margin.
NEWS 4- Assam’s metric exam conducted by SEBA will be held from March 3 to March 24. This was stated in a statement by the Board today.
NEWS 5- Plot to shut down traditional RMS ‘S’ division at Silchar. Barak Democratic Front stated that under no circumstances the plot to uproot the old and traditional central government RMS ‘S’ division of the postal services at Silchar will be tolerated.
The members of Barak Democratic Front handed over to the senior superintendent a memorandum written to Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnab today at the office of this division at Club Road in Silchar. The BDF informed that they will no longer accept the discontinuation of the division under any circumstances.
NEWS 6- Ajmal’s explosive comments against Hindus just before the Gujrat election and his subsequent apology within 24 Hours did not save his party in Karimganj. Today the AIDUF got a jolt in the Karimganj district of Assam where the district President Sainul Haque along with many party workers joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
It is noteworthy that Nuruzzaman, the political representative of Abdul Aziz the current MLA of Badarpur who hails from AIDUF, also joined AAP today.
