NEWS 1- The Supreme Court will decide on Monday whether demonetization is legal or not. A case was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the validity of this decision. NEWS 4- Three men died in a horrific road accident on New Year’s Eve. Around 11:30 on 31st December, three men were riding a motorcycle in Ujangram, Borakhala in Assams’s Cachar district. According to locals, they were riding in high speed. They collided with a tree and two died on the spot. The third person was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) where doctors declared him brought dead.

Our request to the administration, please crack down on roadside liquor shops as it is causing many deaths, especially on New Year’s eve,” said a local resident who rushed to the spot to rescue the youth.Badarpur-Masimpur resident Raj Biswas, Balighat, Das Colony resident Kishan Gurung lost their lives in this horrific accident; The third person is Swapan Das, a resident of Meherpur area of Silchar.A senior employee of the agriculture department also died in an accident at the same place.
NEWS 5- MLA from Assam Kamalakhya threatens to take legal action against the state government for delimitation. Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, working president of the state Congress and MLA of North Karimganj, expressed his reaction to the process of changing the share of 14 districts of the state, including the abolition of four districts.
Threatening to take legal action against the state government for delimitation, MLA Kamalaksh said in a press conference on Sunday that the present government is running a regime like the British regime. He also said that on the night of December 31, people cheered in their own district but woke up the next day to hear that they were included in another district.
Bringing up these issues in front of the media, he said that after many movements including people’s petitions, people were getting success in their districts. But because of a decision of the government, the people have to lose their district. For example, he said, an important place in Karimganj district, Badarpur, a railway town, is being connected with Cachar and an area of Katigora is being connected with Karimganj. MLA said that he cannot accept this at all.Therefore, he told the media that he will take legal action against the decision of the government.
