NEWS 1– The Center is preparing NPR, the National Population Registrar, for the entire country except for Assam. This was stated in a statement by the Union Home Ministry today. Common people can also enroll themselves in NPR. The NPR preparation process first started in 2010. But Opposition parties protested saying that it is the first step of NRC. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs has made it clear that NRP has nothing to do with NRC. The Center has already sanctioned Rs 2141 crore for this project.

NEWS 2 – Today is the last lunar eclipse of this century. The lunar eclipse started at 2:45 PM across the country and ended at 6.12 pm. It was visible in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, and Silchar.

This eclipse has attracted the attention of scientists all over the world for various reasons. Religious leaders have attributed two inauspicious yog to this eclipse. Although science considers it a natural phenomenon.

NEWS 3– In Assam students who have passed well in higher secondary will be given scooty. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said this. He said earlier the girls who got 75 percent marks were given scooty. This time boys will also be given. 25 more colleges will be opened in the state to improve the higher education system. Besides, some higher secondary schools will be further improved

NEWS 4- Early morning of Tuesday a Burmese betel nut loaded twelve wheeled Truck was burnt to ashes on National Highway No. 306 at Pakibile in the Dhalai Police station area of the Cachar district of Assam. The truck bearing registration no AS 01 KC 7017 along with two other trucks laden with betel nuts from Myanmar was seized at five o’clock in the morning on November 6. Five people, including the driver and assistant, were arrested by Lailapur police

The arrested are currently in jail. The police suspect that miscreants stole the truck from the custody of the Lailapur police and set it on fire. Probationary SI Pranjal Lokra of Dhalai Police Station rushed to the spot after receiving the information about the fire being set to the truck. He quickly called three fire engines and managed to bring the fire under control.

But by that time Burmese betel nuts worth crores of rupees were destroyed along with the lorry. Meanwhile, some people were seen leaving with sacks of Burmese betel nuts. Finally, the betel nuts were taken down from the truck with the help of an excavator and brought to the Dhalai police station. The matter has become a complete mystery, how the truck was taken out of the Police Station. Cachar Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta said that the police is investigating the incident.

NEWS 5– Barak’s MLAs have given a memorandum to the Assam Chief Minister for torturing Bengalis in Meghalaya, but no one speaks when some organizations like Lachit Sena repeatedly attack Bengalis. General Secretary of Cachar Trinamool Congress Sajal Banik made this comment. He said that Bengalis are being harassed again and again.

Bengalis are being tortured in detention camps due to NRC. Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev only talks about this and no one says anything about it. He also said that in the Grade III & IV recruitment only a handful from the valley has got a selection. District Trinamool Congress president Rajesh Dev, Anupam Pal Rajdeep Pal, Majud Lashkar, Abir Chowdhury, and others were present at the press conference.

NEWS 6– Assam’s Algapur MLA Nizam’s Home GP is facing scarcity of water for which the women folks came out protesting with empty buckets. Women staged a protest with pots and jugs on the road due to severe water shortage. On Monday afternoon, hundreds of women and men came out on the streets with empty jugs in their hands due to the shortage of drinking water.

They gathered near Panchgram police station and protested with slogans like ‘Jal Chai Jal Dao’, ‘Jal Chai Jal Dao’, Why are we deprived of Jal Jeevan Mission? They said that although there is a PHE near the house of MLA Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, water is not supplied from it regularly. And if done, it is delivered in a handful in the area.
