NEWS 1- Congress, on Monday, staged protests across the country on the Adani issue. Protests were held in front of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and State Bank of India (SBI) offices by the grand old party which alleged that the government is “deliberately silent” on the Adani issue.
NEWS 2 -Parliament, which has been witnessing uproar over the Adani case, got adjourned again on Monday over the same matter. The opposition started raising slogans demanding the formation of a joint parliamentary committee which the government did not agree to. Later both houses of Parliament had to be adjourned. The demand of the opposition is that the government should either form a parliamentary committee or investigate the incident under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
NEWS 3 -Adani row has affected Uttar Pradesh with the state government’s tender with Adani’s company to install prepaid meters in the state getting cancelled. The cancellation of Adani’s tender in the largest BJP-ruled state is a significant development. The government has cancelled this tender of Rs. 5000 crore. A few days ago, Himachal Pradesh government and Rajasthan government had cancelled Adani’s tender. In view of Hidenburg report, the Uttar Pradesh government is now worried about Adani’s share collapse.
NEWS 4- The government clarified on Monday that the bank and LIC (in connection with the Adani row) will not be affected under any circumstances. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman commented that people’s money is safe here.
NEWS 5 -RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent comment that “Pandits (priests) have created castes” has sparked strong protests across the country. Various organisations have protested against the statement. Organisations like Hindu Mahasabha strongly protested this statement of the RSS chief and said the Pandit Samaj did not create the caste society. Recently the RSS chief in a speech on casteism blamed the Pandit community for the creation of caste.
NEWS 6 – Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha will field candidates in every election in the North East. Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha National Spokesperson Professor Dr. Neeran Gautam announced this at a press conference in Silchar on Monday.
