NEWS-1- Security advisor takes charge from Manipur DGP
With a view to reining in the situation in restive Manipur the state government has now appointed Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Ashutosh Sinha as the overall operational commander, to control the situation.
Sinha will now report directly to the security advisor to the state government retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Kuldiep Singh.

The national president of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Rajyashree Chaudhuri has appealed for peace and urged both the state and Central governments to ensure that peace is prevailed in Manipur.

Five soldiers have been killed and another injured in an encounter with terrorists that broke out early on Friday morning in a thickly vegetated area in Kandi forest of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

The Supreme Court on Thursday turned down women wrestlers’ demand for a court-monitored probe into their allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and closed the proceedings on their petition “for now”, saying an FIR has already been lodged against him.
