NEWS 3-The Assam government has issued a strict SOP for the control of madrasas. This SOP was prepared after consultation with various Islamic scholars of the state. From now on, any student from outside Assam will need police verification to come to the madrasa. Similarly, if any teacher is appointed from outside, he will also need verification.
There cannot be more than one madrassa within three kilometers. Madrasa land account should be given. In whose name the land is also to be known. All this information should be reported to the police by December 1. Besides, the government has said to form a specific board to manage the private madrasas.

The two arrested persons are Larios Sey of Umlong village in Meghalaya and Chilas Labare of Thekia area of Claret police station. During interrogation by the two arrested persons, the buffaloes were being taken to Bangladesh via Umkiang for smuggling.
