NEWS 1 – RBI to withdraw Rs 2,000 currency notes from circulation

Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday announced withdrawal of Rs 2,000 currency notes from circulation, and existing notes in circulation can either be deposited in bank accounts or exchanged by September 30.

NEWS 2- Pak police at Imran’s residence for search operation

Punjab Police on Friday arrived at former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence here to conduct a search operation to find “terrorists” reportedly hiding there, media reports said.

NEWS 3 – Top court of Brazil convicts former President

Brazil’s Supreme Court voted on Thursday to convict former President Fernando Collor de Mello on corruption and money-laundering charges.

NEWS 4- Little respite for Sameer Wankhade

The Bombay High Court on Friday directed the CBI not to take any “coercive action” such as arrest till May 22 against former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, accused of demanding Rs 25 crore bribe from superstar Shah Rukh Khan for not implicating his son Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise `drug bust’ case.

NEWS 5 – Tussle goes on between Lt Gov and Kejriwal

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who has been accused of defying the Supreme Court’s orders to let the city government handle transfers and appointments of bureaucrats, on Friday said he was facing “intimidation”.

NEWS 6 – Meghalaya puts job ads on hold

The Meghalaya government, on Friday, decided to put new advertisements about vacant posts on hold and took the decision of setting up a committee aimed at clarifying the concerns of all political parties regarding recruitment.
