Residents in Lafasail are increasingly worried about the potential inundation of their homes and lands
Karimganj : The Kushiyara River has inundated multiple areas in Karimganj district, causing significant concern among residents. The Lafasail area, situated near the Indo-Bangladesh border, is particularly affected as river water has entered the local canal, threatening to flood several villages.
Residents in Lafasail are increasingly worried about the potential inundation of their homes and lands. Despite the rising water levels, anger is mounting against the Water Resources Department for their perceived inaction. Locals express frustration, claiming that adequate measures have not been taken to prevent the flooding.
“The situation could have been controlled if the department had acted earlier,” said a resident of Lafasail. “We are left to fend for ourselves.”
