The BJP Manipur Pradesh organized a significant event on Wednesday in Keibul Lamjao, Thanga, aimed at promoting its candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The event, held amidst fervent enthusiasm, also served as a platform for strategic discussions and garnering opinions from key stakeholders.

The gathering was attended by key voters of Thanga Assembly segments, including all members of Zila Parishad, pradhans from 4 GPs, and ward members from all 4 GPs of the Thanga Assembly constituency of Manipur. Also present were Dr. T. Manihar Singh, Retired Additional Director of Health Services and President of United Clubs of Thanga, as well as key members of Meira Paibi groups and members of Loktak Lake Tourism Development organizations, who collectively represent crucial segments of the electorate.

Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Minister of Education and Inner Lok Sabha candidate of BJP who was also present in the meeting stated that ‘I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the people, first as an IPS officer, then as an MLA, and subsequently as a minister. I am deeply grateful for the blessings bestowed upon me by the Almighty and for the unwavering support of my party, which has entrusted me with the responsibility of serving our community.

He further said that ‘as a committed karyakarta of the BJP, I wish to emphasize that our party has consistently stood by the people of Manipur, through both prosperous times and the current challenges of conflict and chaos. We take pride in our efforts to recognize and promote Manipuri culture and history, playing a pivotal role in shaping the lives of the people of Manipur for the better. Through initiatives such as the implementation of ILP, border fencing, and the abolishment of the Free Movement Regime, the BJP-led government under the leadership of PM Modi remains steadfastly dedicated to safeguarding the rights and preserving the unique cultural heritage of the indigenous people of our state, the MP candidate echoed.

M Asnikumar Singh, Senior spokesperson and Chairman of Loktak Development Authority asserted that as we embark on a journey of love, respect, and dedication to elect Th Basanta Singh to Parliament as a BJP candidate. With his extensive experience in serving the people of Manipur in various capacities, I firmly believe that there is no better candidate for the job than him. His unwavering dedication to the party and the service of the people of Manipur serves as a true inspiration to me. Hitting hard on the Congress party Asnikumar retorted that Congress operates more like a family dynasty, capitalizing on the prevailing conditions of conflict. Despite decades in power, they failed to alter our state’s trajectory towards progress. Instead, we endured decades of hardships, extrajudicial killings, corruption, and endless bandhs, leaving us lagging behind the rest of the nation. During the Congress regime, even Ima Loktak was not spared, becoming a mere pretext for their profiteering. Lies and propaganda seem to be the hallmark of the Congress party.
