Lion cub rescued in Gir Sanctuary

A Lion cub have been rescued in Gir Sanctuary with the help of special lion-ambulance which is first of its kind and was launched just a month back .

With the Government trying to reduce the threats faced by the endangered species of the Asiatic lions which is found in the region of Gir National Forest Park, came up with an initiative to provide safeguards and medical care to the Asiatic lions. 

The Chief Minister Vijay Rupani last month launched a high-tech ambulance for the rescue and treatment of these endangered Asiatic lions.

In Gir Sanctuary of Gujarat, a lion cub has been rescued with the help of a special lion-ambulance on Friday.

This happens to be the first such instance after the special lion ambulance launched by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani last month. 

Lion Ambulance is the first of its kind in the country.

It has fitted in the anaesthesia-cum-ventilator-cum multi-para machine, a blood analyser and an ultrasound imaging suite.

Chief Conservator of Forest D.T. Vasavada has said that the special ambulance was rushed to the spot after information that two and half-month-old lion cub suffering from illness.

Then, the lion cub was taken to the animal care centre for further treatment.
