A twenty-year-old youth met his waterly grave at the Khuga River also known as the Tuitha River which is the only river in Manipur that runs from south to north.

 He had ventured into the river to catch crabs and fish and was drowned in the Khuga River which is also known as the River of Sorrow during the monsoon seasons in the southern part of the state.

 Officials on Monday said that one Paolenmang alias Pao Robert (20) a resident of Old Songpi and son of Haosei Paid was drowned in the Khuga River in an area of the Last Resort Amusement Park, Lamzang village of Churachandpur district around 3:30 pm Sunday.

 A search operation was launched by the locals on hearing the incident and eventually, the lifeless body of the youth was found in an area not far from the place of drowning.
