Four mobile handsets and some indiscriminating documents have been recovered from their possessions, the police said
Imphal : Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Commandos recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in an operation at Chaobok village Lilong about 12 km from Imphal on Saturday, an official statement said. The joint team recovered a Chinese hand grenade and a country-made pipe launcher loaded with explosive material, one Carbine, one P266 Pistol, ammunition of different calibers, and other war-like stores.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Singjamei police station acting on a tip arrested 3 activists of the banned Kenglaipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) from Singjamei bazaar, Imphal on Friday night.
Four mobile handsets and some indiscriminating documents have been recovered from their possessions, the police said. The arrests and seizures were made while they were trying to extort money from a shop at Singjamei bazaar.
The arrested persons later identified asOinam Milson alias Thoi, 34, Salam Ranjit alias Ahumsuba, 33, and Haobijam Haridas, 39 were produced before the duty magistrate, Imphal West district on Saturday. They are remanded into judicial custody for six days, the police added.
