The Chief Minister said that the state government will reward Rs 10 lakhs to the police team involved in the drug seizure.
Manipur Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh said that the war on drugs which was initiated by the present government has been effective in cracking down on drugs. Recently the anti-drug police team foiled a major illicit trafficking bid and seized drugs worth over Rs 100 crores in the international market.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will reward Rs 10 lakhs to the police team involved in the drug seizure. The incentive cash award along with the Chief Minister’s commendation would be handed over the police personnel on July 16 at 1st MR. Besides the cash incentive, the CM’s Commendation is a valuable tag to own it greatly help enhance the personnel’s line of promotion while still in service.
Dwelling on the burning issue of the undertaking a census for the state for the National Register of Citizenship, NRC, the chief minister revealed that his government has already set up a population commission for the state with the centre’s consent for the NRC process.
Regarding the alleged border incursion by Myanmar, the chief minister said that a joint survey along with representatives from Myanmar conducted a border survey to clear misgivings. Further joint survey will be conducted to prevent any border dispute in the future said the CM.
Recently, a frontier village along the international Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Tegnoupal district had alleged that Myanmar authority has re-positioned international border pillar no. 82, 300 metres into India territory, conceding the loss of large tracts of Indian territories to Myanmar.
