Many had died and that due to these incidents, an atmosphere of insecurity, mistrust and fear is also being created among the citizens of the state. Being the  Governor of the state, she appealed to all to maintain brotherhood, dispel the feeling of fear and insecurity and cooperate with the people around looking into the past history of coexistence.

She also informed that the Army, RAF, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, Police and administrative officers of the state, people’s representatives are continuously working in the state. Security forces are patrolling all the areas and taking care of the safety of citizens.

The press note also mentioned about the 24-hour control room of the army No. 9233637014 or the police and any kind of incident nuisance disturbance or spreading fear, looting  damaging property or causing human harm occurs that the citizen should immediately inform the authorities

She also gave the assurance that the security forces are very close and at your service of people and that everything will be fine in no time. Peace and tranquility will be restored, she assured. The situation at the ground is still tense and curfew is being imposed.

Information is not flowing as a result many rumours are circulating in the society. People in Imphal feel that security forces are not guarding the localities and people are having group meetings in order to safeguard their localities from any untoward incidents.

It is reported that many from the Imphal valley are still stuck in Churachandpur and their whereabouts are not known. Already people have started facing the scarcity of medicine, water and food items. Restoration of basic services and lifting of curfew will take a few more days even though arson and burnings of houses have stopped but the situation is still grim and any spark may lead to further escalation of violence and arson.
