She reiterated her appeals, especially to the youths to shun violence without taking the law into their own hands and cooperate with the government in bringing back peace and normalcy in the State. She said appeals have been made to both the communities to stop violence and come out for talks to end the conflict. Violence and bloodshed will only bring enmity despite bringing back brotherhood and peaceful co-existence.

Therefore, both communities should stop violence and cooperate with the government in the restoration of peace and harmony. The main aim of the government is to restore peace and normalcy so that people can return to their respective places, she told the inmates. She patiently heard the tearful testimony of IDPs from Moreh and assured to extend all possible support to enable them to return to their respective places.

The governor said all efforts are on by the Centre and the State governments to restore peace and normalcy. Security forces have been deployed and strict vigil is on to prevent any untoward incidents. Governor further stated that she is in touch with the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, and other central leaders urging them to solve the crisis in Manipur.

During her visits to 3 relief camps – Khomdonbi Memorial English School relief camp, Indoor Stadium relief camp both in Kakching district, and Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief camp, at Wangjing in Thoubal district. Financial assistance of Rs.1000 each to pregnant, lactating women and patients with serious ailments was also distributed by the Governor.
The governor donated a sum of Rs. 5000 to the camp for the purchase of amusement and recreational purposes.

In the communal carnage that started on May 3 between the Meiteis and Kukis, officially a total of 175 individuals were killed and over 60, 000 people are being displaced.
