Governor of Manipur, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, visited the College of Food Technology at Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat, Imphal, on Sunday. On his arrival, the Governor was warmly welcomed by Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of CAU, along with other faculty members.
During the visit, the Governor was given a comprehensive tour of the college’s food processing equipment and manufacturing facilities, designed to enhance student learning in food technology. Governor commended the College and the University for their commitment to advancing local produce development and manufacturing in the state.
Governor also inspected the Biofloc Units at the college, where various fish species and fish feed are cultured. He later visited the North East Food Museum at Ecotourism Park, CAU.
In an interactive session at the administration block, Governor Acharya engaged with students, answering their questions and sharing his insights. He stressed the vital role of agriculture in shaping the nation’s future and highlighted the importance of educating the younger generation on sustainable farming and good nutrition.
