The result for the high school leaving certificate (HSLC) Examination 2024 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) was declared  at its premises, Babupara under Imphal West.

For the time, BOSEM introduced a grading system in the HSLC examination 2024. The overall pass percentage is 93.03 per cent.

The total number of students who appeared the exam is 37,547.

This time, the pass percentage for government schools improved a lot to 84.34 per cent, aided is 92.74 per cent and private is 95.93 per cent.

In district wise, the highest pass cent in valley areas is Thoubal with 99.04 per cent and hill district is Tengnoupal with 99.65 per cent. The district with the lowest pass percentage in the valley district is Jiribam with 50.71 per cent and the hill district is Kamjong with 65.46 per cent.

The overall pass percentage of 2023 was 82.82, 2022 was 76, 2021 was 100, 2020 was 65.34, 2019 was 74.69, 2018 was 73.18 per cent, 2017 was 66.7 per cent, 2016 was 65.37 per cent and 2015 was 61.59 per cent.

Commissioner of Education, Government of Manipur, H Gyanprakash said that BOSEM has introduced a grading system from this year in the interest of the student community.

The system is followed in most of the advanced states that consider education is all about learning rather than just getting good marks. The system aims to enhance the overall performance of the students without giving undue pressure and stress to the students.
